Katherine Norland Launches Christian Book "Poetic Prescriptions for Plaguing Problems" (Pasadena Library) (10/14)
Pasadena, CA, October 04, 2019 --(PR.com)-- On Monday, Oct. 14, Katherine Norland, author of the Christian faith-based “Poetic Prescriptions” series, will launch her newest book, “Poetic Prescriptions for Plaguing Problems: Biblical Remedies for When Life Bites” with a book talk at the Pasadena Public Library, Central Branch, in the Donald R. Wright Auditorium at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The event is free.
“These poems reflect my 10-year healing journey,” says Norland, who juggles matrimony and two sons with writing, filmmaking and an acting career. “I was plagued by doubt, money issues, relationship problems, fear, work-related issues - all coming at me at once.”
For inspiration and poetic license, Norland drew on the 10 Plagues of the Old Testament, as well as the more secular ones, such as typhus and the bubonic plague.
“This book is for anyone who has gone to war in a flypaper dress, trying to catch each buzzing ‘pest’ of a problem that keeps them from living the full life that God has in store for them,” says Norland. “It’s time we stop being the victim in our own stories, and use the brains God gave us to get out of those situations.”
Norland is also the author of “Poetic Prescriptions for Eternal Youth” and “Poetic Prescriptions for Pesky Problems.” She is currently working on two memoirs about raising a special needs child.
The book talk will include videos, book signings, and a Q&A.
