Fripp Island and Pledge the Pink Attempt to Break Guinness World Record for Longest Line of Yard Flamingos

Fripp Island, SC, October 12, 2019 --(PR.com)-- On Saturday, October 12 Fripp Island residents and resort employees will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the Longest Line of Yard Flamingos by placing 3500 flamingos beak to tail in a continuous line.

Pledge the Pink at Callawassie Island held the record from 2016-2018 with 1058 flamingos. That record was broken by the Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy on June 21, 2018 with 1500 flamingos.

Since Fripp Island is hosting this year’s entire Pledge the Pink event, they want to bring the record back to the lowcountry. Pledge the Pink a non-profit that holds a 3-day event in which participants walk 10 miles each day. Participants, who this year come from all 50 states and 27 countries, fund raise and the event hopes to raise $350,000 this year.
