ChildSafeguarding.com Announces New Online Child Protection Training Course Accessible to All Adults
Singapore, Singapore, October 23, 2019 --(PR.com)-- Today ChildSafeguarding.com announced plans for a new online child protection course to launch in March 2020. The 60-90 minute course will provide universal baseline child protection training accessible to all adults, regardless of language, geography, or literacy level.
“We saw that international schools, in particular, struggle to fully train their non-teaching staff,” said Matt Harris, Ed.D., CEO of ChildSafeguarding.com. “A comprehensive child protection strategy includes training for bus drivers, cleaners, enrichment providers, contractors, and other adults working in a school, but there are few external resources that schools can rely on to help, and virtually none that meet the language needs for these learners. We aim to close that gap.”
The ChildSafeguarding.com child protection training course is based on instructional design principles that focus on accessibility, with videos and animations built for engagement. The web- based course will launch in English, with versions in all major languages of Southeast Asia also available (Mandarin Chinese, Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Melayu, Thai). Additional languages will follow.
Course content was developed in partnership with child protection expert Chris Gould of 112 Safeguarding, and in consultation with leading international schools, accrediting bodies, and members of law enforcement. Learners who participated in an early version of the course described it as useful and important, helping them understand both what events to report and how to report them.
“Well done on your commitment to launching relevant, accessible child protection training for all learners,” said Jane Larsson, Executive Director of the Council of International Schools and Chair of the International Taskforce on Child Protection. “International schools serve diverse communities and need to provide differentiated training. Now, schools will be able to provide basic child protection training to their whole community.”
An annotated version of the course script will be available for free to all schools upon registration at http://www.childsafeguarding.com.
The course will go live and be available by invitation to international schools in March 2020, with a broad public release to follow.
