2008 WebGUI Users Conference: Tickets on Sale
Madison, WI, April 09, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Plain Black Corporation® is bringing WebGUI back to its roots for the 2008 WebGUI Users Conference in Madison, WI from August 28-29. The WebGUI Users Conference is an annual event that brings together Plain Black staff and field experts from around the globe to present on all things WebGUI. In addition, attendees work side by side with other WebGUI users from organizations around the world. Nowhere else is this concentration of WebGUI knowledge found in one place at one time. Tickets are on sale now, so register early to receive an early bird discount. A full description of events and accommodations can be accessed at www.plainblack.com/wuc.
The 2008 conference introduces a new format. Formally three days long, this year’s conference will take place over two days, and contain three presentation tracks: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. In this way attendees can select the presentations best suited to their levels of expertise. Beginners can learn about managing content in the asset manager, using shortcuts and macros, and accessing resources for newbies. The Intermediate track delves a little deeper and provides information on building advanced workflows, templating and navigation, and using some of WebGUI’s more advanced assets such as the Survey 2.0 and Thingy. The Advanced track addresses site security, the WebGUI config file, disaster recovery, and avoiding WebGUI programming pitfalls. To see a full schedule of presentations visit the 2008 WUC Schedule (http://www.plainblack.com/wuc/schedule).
In addition to the bounty of knowledge presented during the conference, Plain Black offers WebGUI Workshops during the two days preceding the conference. The workshops provide hands-on, small classroom training for newcomers who need instruction on content management and design in WebGUI. This is an excellent opportunity for WebGUI inductees to become well-acquainted with the content engine before attending the more in-depth conference presentations.
The WebGUI Users Conference is an annual event hosted by Plain Black Corporation®, creators of the WebGUI Content Engine®. In 2001, Plain Black released the first public version of WebGUI. Today, WebGUI is one of the most popular open source content management systems available. It is downloaded over 5,000 times per month and is in use as a web application framework in thousands of organizations around the world. Plain Black offers support, training, and customization of WebGUI and the technologies related to WebGUI. For more information on Plain Black and WebGUI visit www.plainblack.com and www.webgui.org.
