Social Experiment Meet Dollar Bill Launched

Social Experiment and Charity Launched in Franklin, Tennessee.

Franklin, TN, April 09, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Insights Entertainment, a Think!, LLC company, today announced the formation of a charitable program called, “Meet Dollar Bill.”

“A buddy of mine and I were eating lunch at a local establishment when somehow in our conversation, the subject of "how many people do you think you've met over the last 10 years" came up,” states William Klump, founder of Meet Dollar Bill and CEO of Insights Entertainment, as he explains where the idea came from “Imagine if you had a dollar for every person you've met over that time period! I’m going to do that!”

Asking for a dollar for the sake of asking for one made Mr. Klump uneasy, so he decided to donate the dollars he collects to a charity close to his heart, the “Susan G Komen for the Cure” organization.

“My aunt died of breast cancer 13 years ago and I can’t think of a better way to spend the dollars I collect,” says Dollar Bill. “I also don’t want people to think I’m a moocher and I’m just pocketing the loot! This is a sort of social experiment to see how many people I meet and dollar bills I can collect. I don’t need the money.”

The concept is simple. Wherever Dollar Bill goes, he’s meeting new people. He introduces himself and then asks them how many people they think they have met over the past ten years. When they have answered he then talk to them about social experiment, shares his aunt’s story and explains where the dollar bill will go.

The idea has carried over to the web. Meetdollarbill.com was launched not too long after the idea started. It allows people the opportunity to “Meet Dollar Bill,” from anywhere in the country and donate their dollar via the site.

The organization’s plan is to keep this social experiment active for the next 10 years where donations will be made to “Susan G. Komen for the Cure” at the end of each year in the name of Jill Klump, Dollar Bill’s late aunt.

Meet Dollar Bill is a social experiment designed to see how many people Dollar Bill meets over a ten year period and how many dollar bills he can collect in the process. It is a not-for-profit, charitable program with proceeds, minus administrative costs, donated to “Susan G. Komen for the Cure,” a charitable organization to research and fight breast cancer.
