Charlotte High School Boys Soccer Announces Opening of 2019-20 Season and Special Events Lineup
Charlotte Tarpon Boys Soccer is pleased to announce the opening of the 2019-20 season and upcoming events for this season.
Punta Gorda, FL, November 08, 2019 --(PR.com)-- Charlotte High School Boys Soccer is pleased to announce the opening of the 2019-20 soccer season and special events lineup. Charlotte Tarpon Boys Soccer open the season on November 12, 2019 verses Imagine High School. Kickoff is at 7:00PM at the newly named Brian Nolan Soccer Field.
The soccer field was named in honor of Charlotte High School’s current Athletic Director Brian Nolan. A naming ceremony will take place prior to kickoff.
Opening night is Parent Night where both Varsity and Junior Varsity players will honor their parents with a special tribute during half time.
Charlotte Tarpon Boys Soccer will be attending the Beef O’Brady’s Invite on November 16, 2010.
Charlotte Tarpon Boys Soccer will host their 2nd Annual Teacher Appreciation Night on December 17, 2019 with a half time Teacher Appreciation ceremony.
On December 19 and 20, 2019 Charlotte Tarpons present Youth Soccer Night with a special pre-game field ceremony. Players must arrive by 6:45PM for the event. All youth soccer players wearing a team jersey will get in free when accompanied by parent or guardian.
Sponsor Night will be held on January 8, 2020. Charlotte Tarpon Boys Soccer program will host a special half time event to honor Sponsors and the support they provide to the program.
Charlotte Tarpon Boys Soccer will recognize all Senior Players on Senior Night, January 24, 2020, with a half time ceremony recognizing Seniors and their families.
“We are looking forward to a great season. The boys have worked really hard getting ready for this season. We have some wonderful events to share with our community,” stated Varsity Head Coach Greg Winkler.

Charlotte Tarpon Boys Soccer is a character based High School Soccer program directed and coached by Coach Greg Winkler, with more than 30 years of experience as an educator, coach and administrator. A decorated soccer coach in the state of Wisconsin, Winkler was named to the Wisconsin Soccer Association Hall of Fame’s Class of 2015 and the Wisconsin Soccer Hall of Fame’s Class of 2017, recognizing a coaching career that included more than 400 wins at both the youth and high school levels. In 2018, he was named to the Fond du Lac High School Athletic Hall of Fame, where he enjoyed a 17-year coaching career (1998-2014) that saw him amass the most wins in program history (264). In 2017, he published a revised edition of his 2009 book, “Coaching a Season of Significance,” which has been hailed as “a valuable resource for coaches of any sport” and draws upon Winkler’s vast experiences to aid coaches in overcoming obstacles on their way to a significant season. He is a Certified Athletic Administrator and holds a United States Soccer Federation D License as well as United Soccer Coaches, Premier, Advanced National and National Diplomas.
