Local Benefits Specialist Supports Workplace Wellness as Co-Chair of Charleston Digital Corridor’s iFive:K Run
Charleston, SC, April 09, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Reese McFaddin, owner of Workplace Benefits and avid supporter of workplace wellness, will for the second year co-chair the Charleston Digital Corridor Foundation’s Innovator’s Five K (iFive:K) run to be held April 17.
The only area evening race through the streets of downtown, the iFive:K pits individuals and company teams against one another to compete for bragging rights and then celebrate at a pizza and beer after-party. The event is expected to draw 500 runners and walkers and features companies such as Blackbaud, eGroup, Cantey Technology, Modus 21 and more. A portion of the proceeds raised benefits the Burke High School Scholarship Fund earmarked for a student seeking higher education in a technology-related field.
McFaddin founded Workplace Benefits, a Charleston area benefits consulting firm, in May 2006 after working in the benefits industry for more than six years in a variety of roles. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Georgia. McFaddin has won numerous sales awards since starting Workplace Benefits, including the Gilston Agency’s small group representative award for selling the most policies for companies with 2-50 employees, as well as an award for selling the most WellPath policies. A member of the Center for Women, the Charleston Chamber of Commerce, Charleston Young Professionals and the Charleston Digital Corridor Foundation, McFaddin is active in the community and resides on Daniel Island.
“Improving workplace wellness helps both companies and employees not only save on the bottom line but improve health,” says McFaddin. “Events like the iFive:K are great tools to encourage companies to support their employees in being active outside the office.”
