Michael Terence Publishing Announce the Release of Collected Writings - Volume 2 by Ian Riddle
Michael Terence Publishing is excited to announce the release of Collected Writings - Volume 2 – a short story anthology by Ian Riddle.
Thame, United Kingdom, November 13, 2019 --(PR.com)-- About Collected Writings - Volume 2:
This is a second diverse collection of shorts, ranging from the slightly humorous, "A New Dawn," and two Christmas themed tales; "Timothy’s People" and "A Letter to Santa," to the more poignant "But For the Grace of God." This is a social commentary not only on the plight of the homeless but also the differing reactions people have to the situation. One of the main characters, Albert, a recent widower, also appears in "A Quartet of Seasons," a view of Albert’s life seen from a different perspective.
"That’s the Way To Do It," doesn’t fit any particular category; it’s just a story. It’s subtitled, Punch, Lord of Misrule. Hopefully, by the end of the tale, you’ll see why.
"A Touch of the Serendipitous" continues the story of Robert and Jacqueline begun in "A Chance Encounter" in Volume 1.
The last six stories are a suite based loosely around the collective title, "The Times Challenge." Between January 13th and February 17th, 2019 Times Newspapers published six photographs from its archives, each accompanied by a short story written by Alexander McCall Smith.
The Times then challenged its readers to submit stories with their own interpretation, limited to a maximum of 1,000 words each.
This work is available in multiple formats:

ISBN 9781913289447

About the Author
Ian Riddle was born a long time ago now and like both Mary Wesley and Sir Christopher Bland took to writing rather late in life.
Following graduation from the University of East Anglia (UEA), which has subsequently become something of a literary mecca since his days there, Ian worked, briefly, as an Economist in London but soon moved to Cornwall, where, together with his wife, he ran his own business for many years. They lived in the small Cornish fishing village of Polperro which provided a rich source of material for his first novel, Midsummer Dreams, due to be published Spring 2019.
Ian began work on the novel in January 2017 and eight months later had a rough draft ready but feeling the need of a break from it put the manuscript to one side and thought to write just a couple of short stories. Twelve months and fifteen stories later it became clear that it was time to put Collected Writings - Volume 1 to bed and return to where he left off, one year past, especially as he could already feel, this volume of shorts tugging at his sleeve.
After over forty years in Cornwall, Ian crossed the River Tamar and moved back to England a short while ago, although only as far as Devon, where he still maintains a "day job." How much longer this will last, he is not sure. Writing can become a seductive and powerful mistress for which one can easily develop an all-consuming passion.
