Baby Boom Inspires Atlanta Woman to Launch Unique Web-Based Bakery
Atlanta, GA, April 08, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Tris Sicignano of Atlanta has had a passion for baking since she was a teen-ager. After finally creating the “perfect” brownie recipe, she launched Bon Brownie, a web-based bakery that sells fresh, home-made brownies via www.bonbrownie.com.
Made with fresh ingredients, the decadent gourmet brownies are made and shipped the day of order in most cases. The brownies are large--about four ounces each--and they come in a variety of popular flavors including almond toffee crunch and peanut butter blondies.
“I was playing around with recipes, and people kept telling me they were the best brownies they’d ever had,” Sicignano said. “I started making them by the dozen, and realized that this could be a real business.”
Made with Ghirardelli chocolate, pure ingredients and no preservatives, the brownies are more reasonably priced than other similar products sold on the Internet. She makes three different brownie varieties and two blondie varieties.
She started the business about a year ago, using her home kitchen. Soon enough, Sicignano had to expand and now borrows a commercial kitchen a few days a week to bake the orders. A true family affair, her husband, mom and in-laws jump in to help during busy times.
“I wanted to create a product that is much better than what you find at bakeries and in stores,” she said. “My brownies are thick and decadent. Everyone is always raving about them. They are really chocolaty. Every brownie has chocolate chunks in it, and I use all whole ingredients.”
Every batch is freshly baked and then nicely packaged in a box with ribbon along with a card. She can create custom labels for the boxes, a nice touch for gifts during the holidays.
Somehow Sicignano, 31, finds time to run her business, work full-time and raise her 19-month-old son.
“I’ve always been entrepreneurial,” she said. “I just love baking. I love the satisfaction of someone saying they love my brownies. It makes me so happy.”
The brownies are perfect for wedding favors, corporate gifts, birthdays, parties, and any event with food. They can be ordered in single flavors or assortments.
