Operation Food Search Earns 4-Star Rating from Charity Navigator

Nonprofit earns top distinction based upon financial health and transparency.

St. Louis, MO, November 20, 2019 --(PR.com)-- Operation Food Search (OFS), a non-profit hunger relief organization, was recently awarded a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator. The rating is based on OFS’s strong financial health and commitment to accountability and transparency.

Charity Navigator is the largest charity evaluator in America. Since 2002, the organization has used objective, data-driven analysis and awards only the most fiscally responsible organizations a 4-star rating. In 2011, Charity Navigator added 17 metrics—focused on governance and ethical practices, as well as measures of openness—to its rating methodology. These Accountability & Transparency metrics, which account for 50 percent of a charity’s overall rating, reveal which charities operate in accordance with industry best practices and whether they are open with their donors and stakeholders.

“We are proud to receive this distinction from a trusted charity assessment organization like Charity Navigator,” said OFS’s Executive Director Kristen Wild. “We embrace total transparency when it comes to our finances and accountability, and we appreciate the recognition that comes with this honor.”

Founded in 1981, Operation Food Search (OFS) is a hunger relief organization that provides food and nutrition education.
