Australian Distributor Appointed for Remote Access Software Program
XP Unlimited offers very small businesses, with four or five workstations, a high quality pseudo-server network at an affordable price.
Brisbane, Australia, April 12, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Brisbane-based Australian Networking Engineers has been appointed Australasian distributor for the remote access program XP Unlimited.
The program, developed by Dutch-based IP Consult, operates in the Microsoft Windows environment, but is not a Microsoft product. It allows unlimited multiple users to access and work on the same PC server simultaneously.
Theo Driessen, Australian Networking Engineers (ANE) Technical Director, said the product was ideal for the SME sector because it was a cost-effective solution to remote access networking. “It’s a big-end-of-town solution, allowing access to the office environment from anywhere in the world, via a laptop or PC and the internet,” he said.
“Imagine 35 people using the same standard PC computer at the same time.”
ANE has overseen many successful installations of XP Unlimited in Australian companies of various sizes. It is marketing versions of the program for five, 10 or an unlimited number of users.
“Remote access is not readily available at an affordable price for SMEs because of changes in Microsoft product policies. XP Unlimited now makes this function possible for businesses operating on Microsoft Small Business Server,” he said.
XP Unlimited delivers added security by enabling the administrator to define access by each user to assigned applications only. Mr Driessen said the system was easy to manage and could be configured to allow service providers, for example a book keeper or accountant, remote access only to an SME’s accounts.
“With office work being increasingly electronic, this product removes geographical boundaries and enables companies to recruit employees who work from home, or entirely diverse locations. They access the system as though they were working in the central office and important data remains at the office,” he said.
The product mirrors the way high-end solutions work for large businesses, but without the cost.
“XP Unlimited offers very small businesses, with four or five workstations, a high quality pseudo-server network at an affordable price,” Mr Driessen said. Costs are further controlled because workers access the system via cheaper “thin client” PCs that require very little computing power.
It also improves management of small networks because software program updates can be performed in only one location, on the server, without individual terminals requiring updates.
ANE will market XP Unlimited direct to clients or to IT companies as resellers.
ANE provides technical support and troubleshooting for computers and servers, hardware and software sales, network design and installation and full server installations.
