"50 Bullets" New Song Laments Sean Bell Death

Botaniculture Records has created a new Myspace page to promote the new hit song titled "50 Bullets" (NYC) by "Yardmon" about the killing of Sean Bell. This is the first release of a collection of "reggae consciousness" songs to be released by this new record company. An artist and Repertoire representative for the company, Danny Pella states that while the song's theme is taken from the title, the message of the song is that the world should unite against hate. "We are very proud of this song because of it's timeliness." In his description of the songs meaning on his Myspace page the artist says "Let 'dem dance a resistance to the beat of this song." The artist states that the song is not necessarily political, but personal. The public is invited to visit the Myspace page (myspace.com/yardmon50) and download the song with a portion of the proceeds going to a special fund for the environment set up in Sean Bell's name. "We believe that a free exchange of ideas is vital to a thriving society" and that "... what we hear people saying today is that we need to protect and honor human and natural species diversity, our traditional wisdom, and land and human rights. We believe that these are the principles of sustainable development," says Pella. Their aim is to be the first record company to partner with folk and native artists and the environmental movement.
