Indeed.com Launches Job Search by Salary
Indeed estimates salaries for millions of jobs so job seekers can find all jobs meeting their salary requirements.
Stamford, CT, April 15, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Indeed, the most comprehensive search engine for jobs, announced today the launch of Job Search by Salary. This unique feature enables job seekers to find all jobs meeting their salary needs - even when salaries are not advertised by employers. The vast majority of job listings don't include salaries, so Indeed estimates the salaries of millions of such jobs. Job seekers have never been able to search all jobs by salary until now.
Indeed's proprietary methodology to estimate salaries is based on an analysis of similar job listings that include salaries. Indeed extracts salaries from all job listings containing this information - about a fifth of the total – and then estimates salaries for the rest. When actual salaries are advertised, they are shown in the search results.
Job seekers can enter any annual salary into the search box on Indeed, returning all jobs estimated to pay at least that much. They can also set up an email job alert to be notified when jobs matching their salary requirements are found. A job seeker looking for a marketing management position paying over $60,000 per year, for example, can search 'Marketing Manager $60k' which returns over seventy thousand jobs nationwide.
"Job seekers tell us they don't want to see jobs that pay too little and, until now there's been no way to filter them out of their searches when salaries aren't advertised", said Paul Forster, CEO of Indeed. "For the first time, job seekers may search jobs comprehensively and also limit their results to jobs paying a sufficient salary. This further helps job seekers find the right jobs and employers receive better targeted applicants."
