EOS Hosts Leaders in the Legal Library Community

Industry visionaries share insight on legal libraries and the future of knowledge management.

Carlsbad, CA, April 17, 2008 --(PR.com)-- World-class library automation and knowledge management provider, EOS International, invited leaders of the legal library community to the company’s headquarters in Carlsbad, CA for an in-depth discussion about the future of the legal library industry.

Guy St. Clair, President of SMR International in New York, NY and past SLA president facilitated the day long event that included representatives from top legal practices and law libraries in North America. Participants included: Alirio Gomez (Milbank Tweed Hadley McCloy LLP, New York), Steven Lastres (Debevoise and Plimpton LLP, New York), Louis Mirando (York University Osgoode Hall Law School, Toronto), and Susan Streiker (Paul Hastings, Los Angeles).

“EOS International continues to focus our strategy on fulfilling the needs and demands of special libraries for a library automation and knowledge management solution tailored to their needs,” said EOS International’s CEO, Tony Saadat. “Our focus on the field of legal librarianship in our 2008 summit will help us continue to develop the tactical tools necessary for our legal clients.”

In addition to overseeing traditional library operations and research, the latest generation of law librarians often administer and manage the diverse information capital of their organization. With responsibilities for knowledge management, collaboration programs, knowledge repository systems and tools, as well as the facilitation of learning across the organization, legal librarians face evolving challenges as the scope of their duties expand.

“As the profession of legal librarianship changes,” Saadat said, “we will continue to confer with our law summit participants as we strive to develop EOS solutions that meet, and then exceed, their knowledge management requirements. We are privileged to have these talented professionals serve as guides as we further develop EOS International solutions.”
