Cary, NC, April 20, 2008 --(PR.com)-- In keeping with its mission to provide opportunities for enrichment to its members, Planet Child of Cary will welcome pediatrician, author, and mother Margaret McCullers Kocsis for a book signing. Dr. Kocsis will introduce healthy eating concepts from her book Savvy Eating for the Whole Family: Whole Foods, Whole Planet, Whole Life. Dr. Kocsis will address the nutritional needs of toddlers, ways to get a picky eater to eat, and how families on the run can prepare healthy, quick meals.

“As a pediatrician, I have a special interest in nutrition and fitness. Over the years I’ve treated patients for the whole gamut of nutritional maladies, from obesity to diabetes, to anorexia and malnutrition. I have seen what works and does not work for my patients and their families. As a result, I came up with a safe, moderate approach to eating well that really works,” explains Dr. Kocsis. In her book, Dr. Kocsis provides an easy-to-follow action plan to get families - from babies to adults - on the path to healthier eating. Copies of Savvy Eating for the Whole Family will be available for purchase at the event.

“As a parent, I only want for my children to be healthy and happy. No doubt, Planet Child’s member families share this same goal. In an era when, more and more often, we are seeing children develop conditions and diseases normally associated with adults – high blood pressure, elevated cholesterol, and type-2 diabetes – it is increasingly important to partner with experts such as Dr. Kocsis. This is an opportunity for parents and child caregivers to learn more about what we need to do to ensure our children live long, healthy lives. Habits, after all, are formed in childhood,” explains Edmund Hohls, “I have no doubt Planet Child’s members will appreciate this opportunity to hear more about the importance of eating well, regardless of their ages.”
