Enterprise Holdings Foundation Donates $18,000 to Operation Food Search

St. Louis nonprofit to use funds for its Emergency Food Response initiative.

St. Louis, MO, September 30, 2020 --(PR.com)-- The Enterprise Holdings Foundation recently donated $18,000 to Operation Food Search (OFS), a non-profit hunger relief organization, for its COVID-19 Emergency Response Plan that provides free meal distribution to the region’s children and families who need food assistance. The Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Enterprise Holdings, which, through its integrated global network of independent regional subsidiaries and franchises, operates the Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental, and Alamo Rent A Car brands.

The donation supports OFS’s continued emergency response to feeding children through programs such as Operation Backpack, out-of-school meals for children, and supplemental food for families.

“My family has placed a great emphasis on strengthening and expanding opportunities for underserved communities, especially in our hometown of St. Louis. Through this recent investment, we’re proud to be able to help provide food relief to those that need it most during these uncertain and challenging times,” said Carolyn Kindle Getz, granddaughter of Enterprise Holdings founder Jack Taylor and President of the Enterprise Holdings Foundation.

“Operation Food Search can continue to respond to the immediate need for food thanks to generous donations like this one from Enterprise Holdings Foundation,” said Kristen Wild, Executive Director at OFS. “This pandemic will have long-term effects on our community, so we need to be prepared as an organization to assist children and families who have never utilized our services. Substantial grants like this enable our agency to serve those who desperately need our support both now and in the future.”

Founded in 1981, Operation Food Search (OFS) is a hunger relief organization that provides free food, nutrition education and innovative programs proven to reduce food insecurity. With a strategic focus aimed at ending childhood hunger, OFS empowers families and increases access to healthy and affordable food. The agency provides food and services to nearly 200,000 individuals on a monthly basis – one-third of whom are children – through a network of 330 community partners in 30 Missouri and Illinois counties.
