Beaumont Cardiologist to be Keynote Speaker at Soroptimist Conference
Women’s Heart Health Among Key Issues to be Discussed at 101st Annual Meeting.
Dearborn, MI, April 25, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Pamela Marcovitz M.D. the director of the Ministrelli Women’s Heart Center at Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, will be the keynote speaker on Saturday, May 3 at the Soroptimist International of the Americas 2008 Midwestern Region Spring Conference.
The 101st annual meeting, which will focus on women’s heart health awareness, will take place May 2-4 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Dearborn. A heart health walk, awards luncheon and panel discussions are among some of the other activities scheduled for the weekend.
Dr. Marcovitz is a board certified cardiologist and an advocate for women with heart disease. She also has appeared on local and national television and served a consultant for ABC News.
The Wayne State School of Medicine graduate has been an invited speaker for several organizations including the National Association of Women’s Labor Unions, Michigan State Medical Society, American Heart Association, American College of Cardiology and American Society of Echocardiography.
In 2007, Dr. Marcovitz became a founding member and vice president of the executive board of the Association of Women’s Heart Programs, a non-profit organization whose mission is the improvement of cardiovascular outcomes in women through raising awareness in the medical community.
