NACCE's Second Annual Summer Symposium Set for June 22-25: This Year's Theme is "Teaching Entrepreneurship: Sharing Best Practices"
Springfield, MA, April 25, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The National Association for Community College Entrepreneurship (NACCE) will hold its second Summer Symposium for Community College Entrepreneurship Educators (S-CCEE) June 22-25 at Springfield Technical Community College (STCC) in Springfield, MA. This annual event for faculty at community colleges highlights innovative ways for teaching entrepreneurship in both the credit and credit free arenas.
“Our first Symposium last summer was a huge success,” said NACCE Executive Director Heather Van Sickle. “We received very positive feedback, and we hope to build on that success this year. The Symposium provides a forum for entrepreneurship faculty to network and an opportunity for them to acquire new tools to educate and inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs.”
This year’s Symposium theme is “Teaching Entrepreneurship: Sharing Best Practices.”
Topics to be presented by speakers from across the country include:
• Innovative Ways of Teaching Entrepreneurship in Credit and Credit-Free Environments
• Teaching Entrepreneurship: Concept to Commercialization
• Teaching Entrepreneurship Through the Live Case Study Method
• Teaching Entrepreneurship Education Through Blended Learning
• Now What? Marketing Your Offerings Internally and Externally
Registration is available via the NACCE Web site at http://www.nacce.com or call 413-306-3131 with questions. The cost for NACCE members is $750; nonmembers will pay $1,000. The program registration fee includes the opening reception, three continental breakfasts, two full lunches and one full dinner plus all program materials. Guests accompanying Symposium participants may pay $300 to be included in meals.
Most sessions will be held at the Andrew M. Scibelli Enterprise Center, which houses STCC’s Student Business Incubator, Workforce Training and the Springfield Business Incubator. The Hilton Garden Inn Springfield is offering a special rate of $119.00/night for the event. A NACCE shuttle will be provided from the hotel to the Symposium.
NACCE connects community college administrators and faculty with knowledge and successful practices regarding entrepreneurial thinking, entrepreneurship education, and student business incubation. NACCE holds an annual conference, hosts a dynamic list-serv, develops web resources such as shared entrepreneurship curricula and syllabi for faculty, creates guides in beginning and sustaining entrepreneurship and student business incubation programs, as well as, tips for grant proposals specific to entrepreneurial endeavors at community colleges.
