Kate Pabst Encourages Lecture Attendees to "Be the Seeing"
Artist and commercial designer, Kate Pabst, examines a career marked by inquisitiveness and novel challenges.
Portland, OR, April 25, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Kate Pabst kept Quango’s four-part “Creative Bridges” lecture series going strong with a presentation examining both the challenges and opportunities found in rapidly evolving spaces. Looking back on a career forged in the early days of the Web and computer-aided design, Kate credited her successes to a willingness to dive into new and uncharted territory and a propensity for honestly seeing the world around us. A video, photos, lecture transcript and presentation visuals are available at www.quangoinc.com/bridges. An ongoing series blog and discussion can be found at www.quangoinc.com/bridges/blog.
Creative Disruption
In her lecture, Kate Pabst recounted over 25 years of personal and professional experiences spanning print, fine art and Web design. Pabst attributed her successes to her personal commitment to consistently “being the seeing”. “That’s our connection with cross-influences,” says Pabst. “I’m truly interested in people and how people interact, and this shows up in my designs and how I work with clients.” Pabst proved this point by showing work samples and recounting in detail how each met the unique design challenges of her clients. At the end of her lecture, Pabst accepted questions from the audience.
