Los Angeles, CA, April 25, 2008 --(PR.com)-- PPS, Inc. (a California corporation) has announced today that Thomas Preston Poole has been named Chief Information systems Officer (CIO).
As an IT Executive/Senior Executive Infrastructure Project and Program Manager, Preston has spent his career co-authoring networking technologies, developing and streamlining support organizations, and managing multi-million dollar projects around the globe.
Widely touted as the industry's foremost authority on Global MPLS migration projects, Preston co-developed and edited several IETF RFCs for and relating to the use of MPLS (Multi Protocol Label Switching), BGP (Border Gateway Protocol), and Tag-Switching technology.
Mr. Poole is credited with leading a development team to implement the first practical application of IP- MPLS in the Enterprise based on pure IP, and subsequently developing this network (SINet2) into a successful commercial carrier-class information network for the Oil and Gas Industry (Dexa.Net/ DeXa Suite of Services).
Mr. Poole managed the development and deployment of IP PoPs (Points of Presence) in over 35 countries, and construction and operationalization of 10 Major VSAT Land Earth Stations (LES) in West African nations.
Mr. Poole is also credited with leading a project team to develop a widely utilized algorythim for BandWidth on Demand (BoD) and QoS/DiffSERV, which is employed in many home and business application today as facilitating technologies to deliver "Bundled Services" and premium VoD (Video on Demand).
Mr. Poole's experience includes: Director of IT Infrastructure teams at Whole Foods Market, Inc., Direcetor of IS at Cal Dive International, Global Project Manager/Global Service Manager (DeXa.Net) at Schlumberger Ltd., and an impressive Consulting/Program Management career for such clients as Shell Oil/Royal Dutch Shell, Exxon Mobil, Fluor Corp, Lockheed-Martin Space Operations, among others.
