Queen of Chitlins Spreads the Wealth

Washington, DC, April 26, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Shauna Anderson is spreading her wealth – of knowledge. As “The Queen of Chitlins”, Shauna has built a successful food business from an almost forgotten product. She revived interest in a treasured soul food, raised the quality, refined the processing and built a customer base of 10,000 devoted chitlin eaters. She is now mentoring young people in the ways of business, starting with baseball great Gary Sheffield’s two daughters Ebony and Carissa Sheffield. Shauna believes that successful business people have an obligation to bring along the next generation of entrepreneurs.

“Kids don’t just graduate from college with a good business sense. I don’t believe you can fully understand the ins and outs of doing business until you are in the middle of the action. You have to get your hands dirty and deal with real customers, real products, and real problems.”

Shauna keeps Gary informed about his girls progress and exactly what she is teaching them. Currently, Gary’s daughters are learning about business structure, planning and personal communication from Shauna. They are also learning things that aren’t in a typical business course such as self-esteem, attitudes, how to handle anger and how to dream safely and realistically.

Shauna has always found time to mentor her employees, teaching them about customer service, proper food handling and going beyond business to help them buy cars, houses, get off public assistance or start a business of their own. She believes that good honest hard work and a strong business sense can change anyone’s life for the better.
