Last Katrina Dog Victims Housed at Los Angeles' Puppy Pals Ranch Dog Boarding Camp All Finally Back Home

How did 30 dogs from Katrina-ravaged Louisiana and Mississippi end up for two years in a Los Angeles boarding ranch for dogs? Credit internet-savvy family members who found Puppy Pals Ranch and the big heart of owner Lynn Adams, who grew up in hurricane turf. One by one, each of these sad pooches went from cuddles in airport cargo to the fun joys of her lovely mountain estate. With all dogs now safely back home, Puppy Pals is quite proud of adding this special experience to their heritage.

Los Angeles, CA, April 28, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Hurricane Katrina may be "old news" to many. But only this week was the final treasured dog returned to the last out of a total of 31 families after spending over two years at Los Angeles-based Puppy Pals Ranch Dog Boarding Camp.

Most of the credit for how all these Louisiana and Mississippi dogs ended up in Los Angeles' Puppy Pals goes to industrious friends and family who scoured the internet for the "right place" with the "right heart" after Katrina hit and found Puppy Pals.com. As Puppy Pals owner Lynn Adams grew up in Houston, she has a deep appreciation for the fear and destruction of even lesser hurricanes. Plus her passion for dogs and uncanny understanding of their behaviors is reflected in her company, staff and policies. Puppy Pals was found to be quite different than the volume-based businesses of most "kennels," and so the dogs started arriving daily at LAX.

Every few days, each of the dogs' families received emailed photos of their precious fur-kids happily playing with other friendly dogs in the fenced Ranch play-parks, hiking in backyard canyons and mountains, and enjoying the lakes, creeks and big pines of the neighboring national forest. And beyond a high end kibble, these southern pooches feasted on salmon, chicken or sirloin daily grilled meat treats, plus Ranch concocted healthy biscuits at nap and night times. After the evening guitar howl-alongs, the contented pooches crawled into their comfy beds in the 6000 sq. ft. of Ranch housing. After seeing all the emails, Fran in New Orleans was pretty sure that "Her dog would never want to come back home!"

As Lynn says, "What is unique about Puppy Pals is that we naturally balance dog exercise, socialization, rest and nutrition in a tranquil home-style environment." She should know, as this lovely five acre estate is her personal home.

The dog-loving team at Puppy Pals team hugely misses these fur friends who were there so long and became as their own. But they take pride in adding this unique slice of history to their heritage, and are happy to know that their multi-year dog friends are now back home with their loving families.
