Magic and Grace: a Timely Novel of Love, Loss, and Redemption

Evermore Books to release Chad Hautmann's second nove, Magic and Grace.

Memphis, TN, April 29, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Magic and Grace - a novel by Chad Hautmann.

Gibb Chapman had it all: a lovely and loving wife, a new daughter, a beautiful home in a Florida beach town, and a monthly stipend from his wealthy, eccentric mother. He thought it couldn’t get much better–until the novel he’d been writing for years is published to much hype and hoopla. But when he lets his new celebrity status go to his head, Gibb finds out just how quickly fortunes can change. His perfect life comes to an abrupt end with a lip-splitting left-hook from his betrayed (and aerobicized) wife.

With his second novel, Magic and Grace, Chad Hautmann continues to color in the middle between the light and dark sides of life. As in the author’s debut work, the touching Billie’s Ghost (Penguin, 2004), Hautmann explores loss, love, and redemption while managing to avoid the trappings of melodrama with his appropriate and timely sense of humor.

Chad Hautmann was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and received an M. A. in creative writing from Florida State University. He is a former college English teacher and freelance writer whose work has appeared in a number of commercial and literary magazines. Magic and Grace is his second novel. His first novel, Billie’s Ghost, was published by Penguin in 2004. Chad lives in Naples, Florida, with his wife and two children.
