New Christian Feature Release Targets Boomer Market

The Stopping Place DVD shows Boomers choosing Ministry as a Second Career.

Dallas, TX, April 29, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Sweet Picture Films in association with ReQuest Entertainment announce the release of its faith-based DVD, The Stopping Place. A drama/comedy feature, The Stopping Place story is about a retired couple who move to a small Texas town to start a ministry for displaced community residents.

“The Stopping Place is a realistic portrayal of a boomer couple who want to serve others after retirement. Boomers represent 27% of the population and 48% of U.S. families,” says writer/producer Cheryl Hammer. “Our target audience shows that ministry and service are becoming second career choices for this generation.”

The cast and crew, all from Texas, include Drew Waters (Inspector Mom, Mad Money, Major Movie Star), Larry Jack Dotson, Jamie Dugger, Jennifer Stanley and well-known Dallas area theater performer Steve Iwanski.

Directed by Cory Turner, the film screenplay was written and produced by Cheryl Hammer. Connie Biskamp served as the film editor with original music by John Schaller, James Moore and The Scott Sutton Band.

The Stopping Place is also the name of the story setting, the Schimelpfenig House, a restored Victorian home built in 1901 located in the Historical Downtown District of Plano, Texas.

The DVD will be sold through Amazon and Christian retailers.
