Barry Libert Appointed Chairman of the Board for Mzinga

Burlington, MA, April 30, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Mzinga (www.mzinga.com), the leader in business social media and Learning 2.0 solutions for the workplace, marketplace and extended enterprise, today announced that Barry Libert has been appointed Chairman of the Board. Formerly co-CEO, Libert’s new role as Chairman will be to drive Mzinga’s capital markets and acquisition strategy to strengthen the company’s position as the market leader in business social media, technologies and services. Libert will also spearhead Mzinga’s thought leadership and education initiatives to raise awareness about the business benefits of online communities and social networking.

Rick Faulk, formerly co-CEO with Libert, will now serve as Mzinga’s President and CEO. (See companion announcement – ‘Mzinga Expands Management Team’ – for additional details about Mzinga’s management team following its recent acquisition of Prospero Technologies.)

“Barry brings more than 25 years of executive leadership experience in helping companies succeed by leveraging new technologies and innovative business models to create shareholder value for clients” said Andrew Hallowell, a member of Mzinga’s Board of Directors and a founding partner of Acadia Partners. “Both the board and the executive management team at Mzinga will benefit from his leadership and knowledge in his new role as Chairman.”

In addition to leading Mzinga’s strategic growth initiatives, Libert will continue educating leaders about the tangible business value that organizations of all types and sizes can attain through online communities and social networks. We Are Smarter Than Me, a book co-authored by Libert illustrating how businesses could profit from the wisdom of crowds, will be central to the education and awareness program, along with the companion online community WeAreSmarter.org.

“Mzinga continues to make great strides as a growth company and the leading innovator in social media and community solutions for improving business processes like customer service, marketing and employee acquisition, training and retention,” said Libert. “At Mzinga, we are true believers in We Are Smarter Than Me and the business benefits this approach brings for companies using social technologies and crowds to create unprecedented growth and sustained profitability.”

As the founder and CEO of one of Mzinga's predecessor companies, Shared Insights, Libert was one of the first in the industry to recognize and promote the value of communities and Web 2.0 technologies within the enterprise. Prior to founding Shared Insights, Libert was a senior partner at Arthur Andersen and John Hancock, and began his career with McKinsey & Company. Today and throughout his career, he has been an avid speaker and has been featured in interviews by such notable media outlets as CNN, NPR, Newsweek and The New York Times.
