National Scrapbooking Day is held each year on the first Saturday in May. It started in 1994 as a way of celebrating the joys of scrapbooking. According to the Craft & Hobby Association (CHA) about 16 percent (or 17.5 million) of the 110.9 million U.S. households scrapbook, and spent approximately $2.6 billion* last year on scrapbook supplies and related “Memory Craft” products.

Many of the major cruise lines now offer special scrapbooking cruises. Tens of thousands of people across the country participate in special scrapbooking parties and retreats, called “crops,” where they get together to “scrap,” socialize with friends and family, and create new memories.
