Cleveland, OH, May 01, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Small Company Installing Green Lighting In Its New Offices.
Audimute Soundproofing, already specializing in environmentally sound products, just went greener with their recent office move by adding special sustainable lighting to their workspace. The new specialty lighting is state of the art HID (high intensity discharge) Fiber Optic technology manufactured by Energy Focus in Solon, OH.
“It just felt like the right thing to do” says owner Mitch Zlotnik, “The switch to Fiber Optic lighting not only offers a payback in energy efficiency, but it looks great. The decision also fit our existing green philosophy. It feels good to practice what we preach.”
Audimute Soundproofing’s commitment to the environment is rooted in the company’s green product offerings made of natural or recycled material used for sound isolation, sound absorption, and anti vibration. From a simple home theater to an industrial manufacturing facility, Audimute improves sound quality, reduces noise, and enhances environments acoustically for people at work or play. Recently Audimute also began integrating accent LED lighting into many of its acoustic designs for residential and commercial applications.
The installation of the lighting system began last Friday and will continue for several days. It involves removal of the traditional 2 x 4 florescent fixtures already in place and running solid core fiber optic cables from a single light source to various points in the ceilings. Only one or two special bulbs are used per room which also makes changing light bulbs quicker and easier. Additional energy efficiencies are also expected in heating and cooling the office as the lights product less heat by design. Audimute Soundproofing estimates a 4-5 year payback on this investment and a reduction of its monthly electric bill by 50-60%.
Tom, an installer with Ullman Electric says of his first fiber optic installation, “It is easy to install. I am impressed with the versatility of the fixtures, and how easy it is to change the light angles. I am impressed with the light output from such a small source.”
Audimute’s employees are adjusting to the new lights and recognize the earth-friendly benefits of the system. They all agree the new lighting look great, but takes some getting used to as the fiber optic light creates a more natural, comfortable environment not as intense as fluorescent lighting.
Mr. Zlotnik adds, “Like anything new, we will have to warm up to the change; better than warming our planet.”
