Nebraska Physician Appointed to Position at Mayo Clinic in Rochester
Lincoln, NE, May 01, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Dr. Scott P. Liggett, M.D. recently accepted an appointment to join the internationally renowned medical practice and staff at Mayo Clinic at Rochester.
“I am truly honored and flattered to be invited to practice medicine at such a credible institution,” says Liggett. “To work among the best of the best is somewhat of a life achievement, if you will.”
In 2000, Liggett was diagnosed with Amloidosis (a progressive, incurable, metabolic disease) and shortly following sold his self-made practices in Lincoln, Hastings, Beatrice, Fremont and McCook to focus on treatment of his rare diagnosis and recovery.
Dr. Liggett sought treatment at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester and is currently enjoying an atypical recovery. “I never imagined I could feel this healthy again, so to practice medicine at the Clinic that saved my life is both a personal and professional accomplishment,” says Liggett.
The Mayo Clinic at Rochester and Dr. Liggett have a long history. Liggett was an Advanced Clinical Resident in Nephrology at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine in 1983, and then went on to graduate from the Stanford University Cardiac Transplantation program in 1985.
In medical practice since 1983, Dr. Liggett was published in a number of industry leading journals, including Best Doctors of America (1996, 2001, 2003), New England Journal of Medicine (1994, 2001), The Journal of Heart Transplantation (1988, 1991) and American Society of Nephrology (1996).
Liggett is a certified Dipolmate American Board of Nephrology, Diplomate American Board of Internal Medicine, has his United Network for Organ Sharing certification, and is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
