National Association of Memoir Writers May Seminar Featuring Kay Adams - Author of Journal to the Self, The Write Way to Wellness and Scribing the Soul
Acclaimed writer and NAMW founder participate in free, interactive teleseminar aimed specifically toward memoir writers.
Berkeley, CA, May 06, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Author Kay Adams joins National Association of Memoir Writers Founder Linda Joy Myers for a free, interactive teleseminar entitled “Weaving the Threads of Story: Finding Inspiration in Unexpected Places.” Both are therapists with a specialty in writing as a healing journey. Adams and Myers will talk about the power of memoir writing to heal and leave a legacy as well as explore five ways to jump-start your memoir writing from the Inside out. “Every memoir writer occasionally bumps up against fallow fields, dry wells, or barren plains,” says Adams. “When you're as blank as the page, you have to inspire yourself to write freshly again.”
The seminar is scheduled for Thursday May 8th at 11 AM PDT. To sign up visit the Web site. The agenda includes thought-provoking topics such as:
• How fresh language can provide the impetus for curious re-engagement
• Why taking yourself on a walk can provide just the inspiration you need
• How questions can be used as profound catalysts for reconnection
• How to use metaphor, image and symbol to jump-start your story
• How to discover the "story behind the story" in familiar family tales
“These simple yet powerful ideas can transform dullness into delight,” says Adams. “There will be time for listener questions and involvement. Come prepared to take notes.” Myers encourages those interested to sign up even if they can’t make the call. Those who sign up will be able to access the audio on the NAMW site as a download.
