Marshfield’s Damon, Topham and Company Fundraising Challenge for Boys and Girls Club Hits $10K
In the past four years, Damon, Topham and Company, LLC of Marshfield has been raising funds for the Boys and Girls Club of Marshfield by making a $1,000 donation and encouraging other like-minded businesses that care about the community to do the same.
Marshfield, MA, May 06, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Over the past three months, Marshfield businesses have stepped up to match Damon Topham’s $1,000 challenge and so far, $10,000 has been raised for the privately funded, non-profit club.
Fundraisers such as Damon Topham’s help to provide the Town of Marshfield’s youth with enrichment and recreation programs in the Boys and Girls Club safe environment. The club’s family membership fee is $50, but those who can’t afford the fee receive scholarships. The club has more than 1,000 members.
Damon Topham has garnered support for the charitable competition from many businesses in the community over the years. The first year of the challenge, $3,000 was raised. The second year, $8,000 was raised and last year the challenge netted $25,000.
The challenge will continue over the next several months.
“Damon Topham has created an awareness of our club’s need among the business community and they set an example with their donation. We’re very grateful to John Topham and Mike Damon for their generous support through this unique fundraising initiative,” noted Greg Jackson, Executive Director of the Boys and Girls Club of Marshfield.
Business owners can contribute to the Damon Topham Challenge based on four scholarship levels. Categories of giving include Gold members at $1,000; Silver members at $500; Bronze members at $250, and businesses that contribute under $250 are considered to be Friends of the Boys and Girls Club.
