Employees Complete IPC/WHMA-A-620 Workmanship Standard Training
Flippin, AR, May 07, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Demonstrating a commitment to total customer satisfaction through total quality, Actronix, Inc. is pleased to announce the graduation of 14 of its employees from an intensive course of training in the instruction and application of the IPC/WHMA-A-620 “Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies” workmanship standard.
Four employees were awarded designated Certified IPC Trainers, authorizing them to conduct IPC/WHMA-A-620 Application Specialist training certification courses.
Ten employees were awarded Application Specialist certificates, authorizing them to provide standardized practical application of the training within the Actronix manufacturing process.
The credentials awarded are widely recognized in the industry, and the application of the IPC/WHMA-A-620 standard within Actronix’s manufacturing processes will result in benefits to both Actronix and its customers.
The course of study included:
- Cable and wire dimensioning, tolerances and preparation
- Crimp terminations
- Stamped and formed contacts
- Machined contacts - Insulation displacement connections
- Ultrasonic welding
- Soldered terminations
- Splices
- Connectorization - Molding and potting
- Co-ax and twin-ax assembly
- Wire bundling security
- Shielding
- Installation
- Wire wrap (solderless)
The training was provided by Blackfox Training Institute of Longmont, Colo., one of the IPC/WHMA authorized training organizations. IPC, the association connecting electronics industries, and WHMA, the Wiring Harness Manufacturer’s Association, teamed up to create the only industry-consensus standard for requirements and acceptance of cable and wire harness assemblies.
