Flori Roberts Inducted Into the Enterprising Women Hall of Fame
Raleigh, NC, May 08, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Monica Smiley, publisher and CEO of Enterprising Women magazine (www.enterprisingwomen.com), has announced that Flori Roberts, creative director of The Roberts Group, has been inducted into the Enterprising Women Hall of Fame. Established in 2002, members of the Hall of Fame have demonstrated a lifetime of remarkable achievements, including building a business that has achieved a high measure of success or establishing a significant nonprofit organization and giving back to the women’s business community over many years. Roberts was recognized during the 2008 Enterprising Women of the Year Awards, Feb. 28-March 1 at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa in Lake Buena Vista, FL.
In 1965, Roberts found an untapped market in the cosmetics industry and founded Flori Roberts, Inc., which specialized in products for black and dark skinned women. As her business grew, she created Dermablend Corrective Cosmetics, a product line of camouflage makeup designed to conceal skin flaws and discolorations for all skin tones. In 2000, she co-founded Smart Cover Cosmetics, which she presents on national television and the Internet at www.smartcover.com. Roberts was the first woman to be inducted into the Sales and Marketing executive International Academy of Achievement, and has become an activist in helping women advance to positions of leadership in business, politics, education and philanthropy.
