Mom Coach Explains, "The Silent War of Motherhood"
Mia Redrick, author of Time for mom-ME: 5 Essential Strategies for A Mother's Self-Care, teaches mothers that self-care is not negotiable but necessary to be the best you, as well as the best parent.
Baltimore, MD, May 06, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Mia Redrick, author of Time for mom-Me-5 Essential Strategies for A Mother’s Self-Care Has just announced the release of her new book to promote a mother’s self-care. Redrick says, “You’ve read books about what to expect when you are pregnant, how to care for your newborn, and tips on raising your children. Finally, here’s a book for all moms who devote their time and energy to everyone else, yet inevitably leave little for themselves.”
On Sunday, May 11th on Mother’s Day, Mia begins her campaign to tell one million mothers that their self-care matters. Mia says, that the real war in Motherhood is not the Mommy Wars (the battle between stay-at-home moms and working moms) but instead The Silent War in Motherhood. In her books, she says,” I have spoken with countless of moms regarding this process of silently fading away. The irony for many is while our lives as mothers are fading, our children are thriving. Somehow as moms we manage to coordinate the children’s lives to include schooling, extracurricular activities, healthy meals, play-time, and hobbies and play dates for growing friendships, but we fail to create any of these for ourselves. We have an internal war that say, “Not now.” “There isn’t enough time or resources.” “Just wait until… they graduate, I go back to work, the summer comes,” or whatever the reason is for putting yourself on hold.” Redrick teaches mothers that self-care is not negotiable but necessary to be the best you, as well as the best parent.
Mia’s company, Finding Definitions, LLC provides coaching services, teleclasses, e-books, audios and articles to help mothers create more personally fulfilling lives. My goal is to fill this important void for mother’s throughout the country. Mia’s website at www.findingdefinitions.com is the authority web community promoting a mother’s self-care.
