Zoom Eyeworks Continues to Set Display Trends in the Market and Wins POPAI OMA Award
Berkeley, CA, May 09, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Zoom Eyeworks has been awarded a POPAI OMA award for display excellence. Entered as a permanent fixture in the Drug Store category, judges felt Zoom’s new Rite Aid Endcap was an innovative and effective means of making the product memorable and alluring to consumers. Zoom was awarded the highest honor in the category this year.
Zoom, the only eyewear company to win an award at the show, has continually pushed display boundaries. “We’re always looking for ways to make our displays intuitive and friendly to consumers,” explains Doug Lauer, President at Zoom Eyeworks. “To consumers, our displays are the face of the company, so we want to make them as easy to shop as possible.”
“Our new Rite Aid Endcap offers cue’s to direct consumers to the perfect pair of readers,” notes Chuck Munden, V.P. of Sales at Zoom. “For example, we added male, female, and unisex category panels that take the guesswork out of gender specific glasses. We also wanted to make finding the correct reader strength easy, so we color matched our diopter headers to our product tags. On an internal level, we introduced adjustable pegs to make re-merchandising and product change outs quick and easy.”
POPAI, an international trade association for the marketing at-retail industry, has been presenting OMA awards, Outstanding Merchandising Achievement, for fifty years. The OMA is the premier award for recognizing retail displays that elevate sales through innovation and effectiveness. Judges award companies who develop displays that make an impact on consumers, inviting them to shop. Zoom’s Endcap display, found only at Rite Aid stores in the Western United States, was designed in-house and built by Rapid Displays.
Zoom Eyeworks is a leading US designer and distributor of reading glasses and sunglasses with a reputation for high-quality, innovative, fashionable eyewear products and displays. Zoom and its family of brands, including Dr. Dean Edell Reading Eyewear, Zoom Readers, and ICU Eyewear, are distributed to over 18,000 retail outlets across the country.
