Jacksonville Jaguars' Maurice Jones-Drew to Host Free Football Camp for Jacksonville Youth
On Saturday, May 10th, Jacksonville Jaguars’ star running back Maurice Jones-Drew will host his 2nd Annual football camp for Jacksonville youth at the Jaguars Practice Field at Alltel Stadium at 8:30 am.
Jacksonville, FL, May 10, 2008 --(PR.com)-- On Saturday, May 10th, Jacksonville Jaguars’ star running back Maurice Jones-Drew will host his 2nd Annual football camp for Jacksonville youth.
The NFL record-breaking phenom vowed that if he ever achieved his dream of playing professional football, he would strive to help other young people achieve their dreams as well. He is now making good on that promise by supporting local youth programs and providing free football camps for youth in Jacksonville and his hometown of Antioch, California.
Drew hopes this camp will give him an opportunity to impress upon the young campers that they can achieve their dreams through hard work and perseverance.
300 campers ages 8-15 will report to the Jacksonville Jaguars Practice Field at Alltel Stadium at 8:30 am to work under the tutelage of Drew and several of his Jaguars teammates who support him in his mission to train and inspire the youth in his community. Campers will be provided with snacks, lunch, beverages, gift bags and autographs from participating players.
“I was fortunate to have had great role models in my life who guided my path, but I realize that a lot of young people aren’t as fortunate. So I use my camp to not only teach basic football drills but dispense little nuggets of wisdom at the same time." Drew further adds "I recently started my non-profit foundation and am excited about the programs set in place to work with the youth in my communities. I feel truly blessed and want to share my blessings with these young people."
