DSA Wins Award to Support DoD Spectrum Management Goals
Targeted at reducing frequency conflicts providing greater safety and surety of mission success to the Warfighter.
Fairfax, VA, May 12, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Data Systems Analysts, Inc. (DSA), a provider of enterprise-wide information technology solutions and security services to government and industry, announced today that it has won the competitive award to provide programmatic, analysis, and costing support to DISA Strategic Planning & Information Directorate (SPI) in creating an Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) for the Global Electromagnetic Spectrum Information System (GEMSIS) program.
“By leveraging the knowledge and experience we, as a company, have gained supporting the Spectrum Supportability System (S3) AoA, GEMSIS Increment 1 PMO acquisition efforts and the Net-Centric Enterprise Services (NCES) Milestones A, B and C, we will be able to assist DISA in rapidly moving this effort forward to ensure capability is brought to the Warfighter in the most expedient manner,” states Bill Player, DSA’s Senior Director, Net-Centric Acquisition Support.
GEMSIS is envisioned to provide end-to-end integration of all electromagnetic spectrum operations, across all functional areas, throughout the entire acquisition and operational life cycle of future Warfighters’ capabilities. It will promote the integration of spectrum use across the time domain as well as other Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) and logistics domains. Integration opportunities include enabling command and control (C2) capabilities such as electronic warfare and weapon systems, ISR capabilities such as sensors, network management, and logistics.
To further the program, an Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) must be conducted. The focus of the AoA is to refine the selected concept documented in the approved Initial Capabilities Document (ICD). The AoA will also assess the critical technologies associated with these concepts, including technology maturity, technical risk, and, if necessary, technology maturation and demonstration needs. It serves as an operational comparison of the operational effectiveness, suitability, and Life-Cycle cost of various alternatives under consideration to meet established capabilities. DSA is proud to have been selected to be part of this vital effort that supports DoD vision into the future.
