PhotographyCorner.com Announces the Winner of Contest Corner Challenge#49: Play Ball
Gil Paz of Giv'atáyim, Israel is the Latest Contest Corner Challenge Winner at www.PhotographyCorner.com, Winning Contest Corner Challenge #49: Play Ball.
Barrie, Ontario, Canada, May 11, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Photography Corner ( www.PhotographyCorner.com ) has announced that Gil Paz is the winner of the site’s latest Contest Corner Challenge, and as such has been awarded a Nodal Ninja 3 panoramic tripod head. The recent challenge asked photographers to capture a photograph that has something to do with baseball or cricket. PhotographyCorner.com began offering Contest Corner Challenges in July 2004, and new challenges are issued every 3 weeks throughout the year.
With over 18% of the votes from a total of 20 qualifying submissions, Gil Paz won the recent photography challenge CCC#49: Play Ball with his work showcasing a baseball surrounded by shards of glass on a hardwood floor titled “Broken Window.” This is the first Contest Corner Challenge win accomplished by Gil Paz.
“This win by Gil was especially spectacular because of his location – Israel,” noted PhotographyCorner’s owner Tim L. Walker. “The contest was originally a ‘baseball-only’ contest, but was soon opened up to include cricket so not to exclude those living in places where baseball isn’t a major sport. Gil chose to take the more challenging route, and instead of capturing a cricket photograph (as cricket is much more popular in Israel than baseball is), he created and captured the classic baseball scenario of a baseball going through a broken window.”
Contest Corner Challenges at www.PhotographyCorner.com are issued to site members in the community’s forum and on the Corner Blog (http://www.photographycorner.com/blog). Only Premiere Members of Photography Corner (requires a yearly or lifetime subscription) are eligible to win some of the bigger prizes, but all members of the site are always invited to submit photographs to the contest, and all have a chance to wins prizes in each contest. Everyone is invited to participate in the five-day voting window to vote on contest winners and discuss submissions after they have all been received.
