London, United Kingdom, May 13, 2008 --(PR.com)-- OwnAFilmCompany.com has launched a Members Short Films section which allows users, who have registered for free, to have their short films appear on the OwnAFilmCompany.com website.
OwnAFilmCompany.com is a new website which is going to give 100,000 members of the public the opportunity to buy a share in a Film Production company and vote on the film that is made, as well as the cast and crew. Currently OwnAFilmCompany.com is accepting free registrations. Once 100,000 people have registered, they will be invited to become paid members, but are under no obligation to do so.
Any of these registered free members can now submit their short films to the OwnAFilmCompany.com Members Short Films Gallery. They must first register with Revver.com and submit their films there. Once accepted by Revver, members simply login to OwnAFilmCompany.com, click on “submit Film” in the top navigation and enter the film’s Revver id number. As Revver manually checks submissions, all videos that members submit to OwnAFilmCompany.com will automatically appear on the site. However, any that are reported to be inappropriate or breach copyright, will be removed.
OwnAFilmCompany.com is not in anyway associated with Revver.com. OwnAFilmCompany.com chose to use Revver.com instead of one of its competitors because all submissions are checked by a human and 40% of the advertisement revenue, generated by each video, is paid to its creator. This means OwnAFilmCompany.com members may make money from having their videos displayed in the OwnAFilmCompany.com Members Short Films Gallery.

Once the site has 100,000 registered free members, they will be asked to pay a £30 (£35.25 with VAT) membership fee, which will be put towards the running of the website and the funding of a £2.5m feature film.
In return for paying their £30 membership fee, members get to own one share in the film company and vote for the script as well as the lead actors and main crew. Members also get to submit their script idea and music, if applicable, for voting before non members.
There will be a limited number of unpaid positions, like extras and runners, that people can take for experience only. Only members will be allowed to apply for these positions. This is ideal for film or media students, recent film or media graduates, and those starting their media careers.
If the film is a success, 50% of the profit will be split equally between all 100,000 members.
