New Britain, CT, June 02, 2008 --(PR.com)-- "On May 1st 2008 Generale Ameglio Italian Civic Association, New Britain CT (USA) names Gianni Boscarino Honorary Lifetime President by the organization administrative committee," states President Paul Giliberto. "He has dedicated many hours to our organization and has volunteered on countless occasions, there is not enough we can do for him," Social Committee Chairman Paul Burgio states.
Born in Siracusa, Sicily (Italy) 1943, he married Noella Albert Boscarino and came to the United Stated in 1968. He has been a member of the Generale Ameglio Italian Civic Association since 1970. Gianni has lived in New Britain, CT (USA) since 1970, he had worked as a construction worker for more than 30 years, retiring 5 years ago.
The Generale Ameglio Italian Civic Association (GAICA) founded in 1913 to support Italian American communities promotes awareness and interest in Italian culture as an integral part of Italian and American history. GAICA maintains cultural customs and provides educational programs. Its ongoing activities also include the Annual Ricotta Dinner Night and recently hosted the Miss Italia USA (CT) Beauty Pageant. The member-directed organization maintains relationships with two sister cities in Italy, Priolo Gargallo and Solarino, Providence of Siracusa, Sicily (Italy).
