Grand Opening of New Frozen Yogurt Café Attracts Thousands
New Self-serve frozen yogurt cafe's Grand Opening brings in the crowds; 200 gallons of yogurt sold in two days.
San Gabriel, CA, May 12, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The May 10, 2008 Grand Opening of Nubi Yogurt attracted well over 3,000 people over the weekend. Located at 140 W. Valley Blvd., San Gabriel, California, Nubi Yogurt is a self-serve frozen yogurt restaurant where customers create their own frozen treat with a choice of twelve flavors of healthy, probiotic frozen yogurt, fresh fruits and all their favorite cookie, cereal and candy toppings.
"We are absolutely thrilled at the turnout last weekend," said Tim Lan, Director of Nubi Yogurt. "I stocked up on yogurt and toppings before the event, but as purchases piled up, I still ended up having to run to the supermarket to buy fresh fruit for the toppings. I was in the checkout line with an entire cart full of strawberries. By the end of the day on Sunday, we had sold over 200 gallons of yogurt. We estimate between 3,000 and 5,000 people visited the store, and over 2,500 purchased yogurt. It was astonishing.”
Nubi Yogurt uses an innovative self-serve concept. Customers pick up a cup at the entrance, and follow a simple three-step method: Fill it with Nubi’s healthy probiotic frozen yogurt; Top it with fresh fruits and a tantalizing array of toppings; Weigh it and enjoy. The self-serve concept means that customers can pile on as many toppings as they like.
“Today’s health-conscious consumer wants dessert that won’t weight them down with fat and calories,” notes Mr. Lan, “and Nubi delivers by offering fat-free frozen yogurt and fresh fruit, cut daily on the premises. We have a delicious, quality product, and we were so happy to see that our customers agree.”
The San Gabriel café is the second of Nubi’s company-owned outposts. Nubi Yogurt’s first café opened in Apple Valley, California in February 2008. By the end of May, two more cafés will open in Redlands, California and Millbrae, California.
