Texas Association of Health Underwriters Acknowledges Local Chapters’ Successes
TAHU Awards Local Chapters’ Efforts of Record-Setting Membership Retention and Achievement.
Austin, TX, May 18, 2008 --(PR.com)-- During their 20th annual convention in El Paso, Texas, the Texas Association of Health Underwriters (TAHU) acknowledged the efforts and successes of its members and local chapters by presenting various state awards from the past year. Among the local chapter winners were Texoma and Fort Worth for the small and large chapter of the year, respectively, and San Antonio for the public service award. The highest honor of the association, the Hollis Roberson Award, was awarded to Executive Vice President and CEO of NAHU Janet Trautwein.
Along with presenting awards representing local chapters and members, the convention also celebrated its record number of new members, seventy six, during April. During the month of March, TAHU’s overall retention rate has steadily increased, as well as six of the twelve active chapters’ rates.
“With gaining a record number of new members during a one month period, it is important that we continue to engage these people at the local level as much as possible,” TAHU President Carolyn Goodwin said. “It is critical that we not only strive to involve and educate these members, but that we also retain their membership so that they can assist us in our mission to inform and protect consumers regarding the insurance industry.”
