Adirondack Chair Shop Announces Ten Years of Online Sales
Ten Year celebration
Albany, NY, May 19, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The Adirondack Chairs Shop (http://www.adirondackchairshop.com) has announced a celebration of ten years of online sales of New York State crafted furniture.
Adirondack Chair Shop started in 1998 as Packbaskets.com selling pack baskets and Adirondack related items online. They initially offered handcrafted pack baskets created by Pete Rickard, Inc., a well-known outdoor sports company. One year later they added adirondack furniture from Adirondack Wood Furnishings. AWF is subsidary of Citizen Advocates, Inc, of Malone, NY. AWF employs adults with developmental disabilities who handcraft a traditional line of Adirondack style furniture.
In 2007, Adirondack Chair Shop added a line of cedar furniture crafted by Old Adirondack, Inc in Willsboro, NY. Old Adirondack has been around for several decades and is a known manufacturer of premium Adirondack furniture. With the addition of Old Adirondack furniture, Adirondack Chair Shop expanded its line of furnishings from traditional Adirondack chairs and loveseats to rustic cedar furnishings more representative of the "Great Camp" era of the Adirondack region. They also added indoor cedar furniture and arbors and pergolas to their line.
Now, celebrating 2008, Adirondack Chair Shop has seen its online sales grow by approximately 10% every year. The ten year anniversary of AdirondackChairShop.com will see some new additions to their already vast line of furniture. In the summer of 2008 Adirondack Chair Shop plans on offering Poly-Wood furniture. This exciting development in outdoor furnishings offers consumers a nearly maintenance-free furniture option.
Lastly, Adirondack Chair Shop plans to add Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified chairs. FSC certification guarantees consumers they are buying products made from wood that is harvested using environmentally friendly and sustainable methods.
Adirondack Chair Shop is looking ahead to a second decade of sales of beautiful handcrafted furniture and wishes to thank the thousands of loyal customers who have supported New York State made products.
