About Barbara Ann White
Barbara Ann White is a retired registered nurse who spent 45 years in the healthcare industry. She worked in various home healthcare agencies providing private individualized home care and specialized in critical care nursing in the Saint Louis, Missouri area. White was also responsible for mentoring other nurses.

After her retirement, White started working for Delmar Gardens Home Health/Delmar Gardens Private Services. She also served in the Homer G. Phillips Hospital's Pediatric Intensive Care and Male Intensive Care Units and the John Cochran Veterans Medical Center in St. Louis.

Born on September 19, 1947, White received her R.N. at the Saint Louis Municipal School of Nursing and attended Forest Park Community College, as well as the University of Missouri in Saint Louis. She has two children, Walter and Thomas.

White is affiliated with the National Education Association, the Missouri School Nurses Association and Just Us Social Club. In her spare time she enjoys travel, cooking, reading, and family activities.

Looking back at her career, White said “Knowing that you have impacted students and their parents is to have a parent approach you years later and thank you for advising them to have their child evaluated by their healthcare professional and treated for cardiopulmonary complications. That child was diagnosed as having asthma and another for having juvenile diabetes after noting significant weight loss and excessive urination. Both are doing well and managing their conditions and medications without complications.”
