School of Rock Summer Boot Camp Gives Young Musicians a Cool Way to Beat the South Florida Heat
Coral Springs, FL, May 20, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The Paul Green School of Rock Music, south Florida’s premiere after-school music program, has added Rock & Roll Summer Boot Camp to its curriculum. Offering young musicians a cool way to beat the south Florida heat, the one-week sessions have limited enrollment and are filling up quickly.
Rock & Roll Summer Boot Camp is the ideal program for musicians ages 7-18 who want an immersive summer day camp experience in a true rock & roll environment. Says 11-year old drummer Jared Zim who will be attending all three sessions this summer, "I am very excited about being able to spend my summer hanging out with other kids who are as serious about playing music as I am." Students spend one full week working in a hands-on-atmosphere honing their performance and ensemble expertise as well as learning valuable music industry related skills.
A typical week includes classes in Music Theory, Classic Rock Music Appreciation, a crash course in Live Performance, Elements of Song Writing & Composition, Studio and Rehearsal time, Recording Sessions, Guitar, Bass, Drums, Keyboards, and Vocal Clinics, and Private and Group Instruction with Music Professionals. Each session culminates in a Live Rock Concert performance for friends and family.
Not only do students meet and interact with other talented young musicians, they're also given unique access to established music professionals who share their experience and knowledge to help them understand some of the options open to them in the music industry. Burny Pelsmajer, Music Director at the Paul Green School of Rock Music in Coral Springs adds "Rock & Roll Summer Boot Camp is an excellent opportunity for students who already have some musical experience and are ready to be part of a band at a performance-based level."
The school is the local branch of the nationally acclaimed music school, The Paul Green School of Rock Music, started in Philadelphia in 1998 and recently depicted in the documentary Rock School. The Coral Springs location offers a wide-variety of lessons and programs for students of all ages including Private lessons, Rock School 101, Rock School Performance, Grad School, and Rock & Roll Summer Boot Camp.
