Young Cookbook Author Brings a Taste of Dessert to Borders Concept Store Grand Opening
On Friday, May 30th, the new Southbury Borders Concept Store will kick off its grand opening event with a meet and greet book signing by Hannah Kaminsky, the author of My Sweet Vegan. Beginning at 4pm, Hannah Kaminsky will be on hand to answer questions, sign copies of her new cookbook, and share samples of her delicious desserts with shoppers.
Southbury, CT, May 22, 2008 --(PR.com)-- On Friday, May 30th, the new Southbury Borders Concept Store will kick off its grand opening event with a meet and greet book signing by Hannah Kaminsky, the author of My Sweet Vegan. Beginning at 4pm, Hannah Kaminsky will be on hand to answer questions, sign copies of her new cookbook, and share samples of her delicious desserts with shoppers.
My Sweet Vegan is a collection of dessert and baking recipes created by Hannah Kaminsky during her senior year in high school. At the age of 18, the author single-handedly developed and photographed each recipe, creating a full color cookbook with brunch recipes, cookies, cakes, pies, and more, all free from cholesterol, eggs and dairy. According to the award-winning author, Deborah Madison, “…it's impossible not to find oneself interested in these delicious recipes.”
The bookstore grand opening celebration will take place from Friday, May 30th through Sunday, June 1st, and will include book signings, musical performances, storytime for kids, prize giveaways, and more. The new Southbury location is one of 14 new Borders Concept Stores opening in the U.S. this year.
Borders’ new retail concept blends tradition with digital and Internet options for an upgraded look and many new features available to customers. At the core of their innovation is a Digital Center where customers can enjoy making their own CDs, downloading books and music, publishing their own books, exploring their family history, and creating photo books. Catering to customer demand, the new concept stores also place a strong focus on popular categories such as Cooking, Wellness, and Travel, by incorporating digital and online features for an “interactive destination.”
