Long-Time Podcaster, Wayne Henderson, Releases the 58th Episode of His "Tuning In..." Podcast
Former On-Air Radio Personality, Wayne Henderson, now Voice Acting and Podcasting for fun and profit.
Riverside, CA, May 29, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Podcasts are taking the internet, iPods, iPhones, and even Zunes, by storm. A Podcast, is an mp3 audio program, which can be listened to directly on a web site, or downloaded and listened to on an mp3 player, such as an iPod or iPhone. Wayne Henderson, who moved back to Yucaipa in 1996, has been producing his own podcasts since August of 2005. Wayne's podcasts, and most other podcasts, are free.
His Tuning In With Wayne Henderson, Wayne's Take on LOST, Wayne's Take on Fringe, and Voice-Over Journey podcasts can all be subscribed to for free in the iTunes program on your computer. By subscribing, you automatically get each new episode of Wayne's podcasts as they come out. In addition to discussing Voice-Overs and the TV show LOST, some of the "Tuning In..." podcasts provide information on the Green Bay Packers football team, and Ballroom Dancing (especially the TV show Dancing With The Stars). Simply do a search in iTunes, under podcasts, for Wayne Henderson.
Wayne mentioned "I started with just the TIWWH podcast, but realized that if I wanted to grow my audience, I needed a couple of podcasts with more of a focus. That's how I came to produce the shows about the voice-over industry, such as the Voice-Over Journey podcast, and produce the shows about LOST, such as Wayne's Take on LOST". He continues, "and it has really paid off. Downloads of the LOST only shows have skyrocketed, in part due to having them syndicated in the LOST Podcasting Network of shows."
But, why produce all of these podcasts, if there isn't any real money to be made doing them? Wayne explains that "one of the reasons that I do these podcasts, is to get my creative ideas out there while I am between voice-over jobs and on-air radio jobs. Previously, Wayne has worked on the air at area radio stations KPLM in Palm Springs, KMET in Banning, and KCAL in Redlands. He adds, that “although it requires some technical knowledge and equipment, it is a ton of fun to record these shows at home, then to upload them, and then to wait and see how many people download and subscribe to the podcasts. Of course, the best part is when I get voice-mails and emails from listeners!”
If you have any comments or theories about LOST, the Green Bay Packers, Ballroom Dancing, or even Battlestar Galactica, you could possibly be included in a future episode of the Wayne's Take on LOST, or his other Tuning In with Wayne Henderson podcasts Wayne encourages you to call his voice-mail feedback line at (206) 984-1446 and you just might be part of one of the shows.
Side-by-side with the popularity of podcasts, is the huge growth in the numbers of people using social networking websites, such as Facebook, LinkedIn, and MySpace. Wayne was the 60th member of the fast growing new social networking website, IRockTheMicVo.com, specifically for voice actors. Henderson is very excited to have his Voice-Over Journey podcast, and my voice talent mentioned in a great article published by the Voice Over Times about voice actors who are using the hot new social networking site IRockTheMicVO.com. “It is an honor to be mentioned in the same article as voice-over industry greats like Pat Fraley, Bettye Zoller, Stephanie Ciccarelli, and Rick Party (who founded IRockTheMicVO.com). Wayne was surprised to see that the article stated that he is considered part of “the Social Media savvy in the voice over industry…”! He says “I never thought I would be considered as ‘savvy’, let alone ‘Social Media savvy’. I love it though.”
In addition to fostering community and getting his creativity out, the main focus of Wayne’s podcasts and social networking is to make people aware of his voice-over career. Wayne mentioned that “with the very affordable home computer recording equipment available today, I can now record with a sound quality equal to what would have cost thousands of dollars just ten years ago”. If your business needs a voice for your website, answering machine system, audio training programs, or maybe even a podcast of your own, consider using Wayne Henderson for your voice-over needs.
