Twenty 20 Cricket Application an Instant Hit on Facebook

Infrablue Technology, a private web development company in Dhaka, Bangladesh launched on May 20, 2008, its own version of the Twenty 20 Cricket game as an application. “After watching the success of the Indian Premier League, I just thought why not develop a Twenty 20 Cricket application on facebook to allow the users have the same excitement as well,” says Fazle Taher, CEO of Infrablue Technology. The game allows cricket fanatics to choose their own squad from their friends list. They can choose the batting and bowling line up as well as the style of fielding. Teams are awarded points for winning and then those points can be used to improve the stats of the players such as batting, bowling, fielding, fitness and commitment level.

In span of just a week, the game has become extremely popular among the cricket fans. “We really weren’t expecting much, maybe 1,000 or 2,000 users, but already we have over 4,500 users in which over 35% are actively playing daily,” says Mirza Asif, Chief Technology Officer of InfraBlue Technology.
