Fuentek Cosponsors Excellence Fund Scholarship for UNC-Chapel Hill School of Medicine Student
Apex, NC, May 29, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Laura A. Schoppe, president of Fuentek, LLC (www.fuentek.com), has announced that the firm is cosponsoring a scholarship for a medical student at UNC-Chapel Hill through the Excellence Fund. The Excellence Fund provides support for programs in UNC Hospitals and the School of Medicine through annual, unrestricted gifts from non-medical alumni. These donations provide support for patient care, research and medical education. Scholarships are typically awarded to first-year medical students, and recipients are determined based on their financial need. The Excellence Fund scholarships can be used to recruit students entering medical school, and the scholarship recipient will be determined by the Admissions Office within the next month.
Fuentek is cosponsoring the scholarship for the 2008-2009 school year with Scintellix, LLC, an international network of biomedical technology consultants headquartered in Raleigh. The Co-Founders’ Club, the annual recognition society of The Medical Foundation of NC, Inc. which honors individuals who have given $1,000 or more cumulatively to any area of UNC School of Medicine or UNC Hospitals, has recognized both Schoppe and Peter C. Johnson, president and CEO of Scintellix, as members for the 2008-2009 fiscal year.

This scholarship gives them the opportunity to graduate debt-free and potentially enter into primary care, a field desperately needing additional help.”
