Tiki's Grill & Bar Appoints Wayne "Pancho" Gomes as General Manager
Honolulu, HI, May 31, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Tiki's Grill & Bar, located across from Waikiki Beach has appointed Wayne "Pancho" Gomes as general manager. He will be responsible for overseeing daily operations and creating a strategic growth plan for the restaurant.
As one of his first duties, Gomes will roll out a new menu in mid-June. A few of the new menu items created by Chef Kapo will include Grilled Hamachi Benedict, a Fried Green Wailua Tomato sandwich, and Kona Maine Lobster with Pappardelle Pasta. Tiki favorites such as Macadamia Nut Crusted Mahimahi, BBQ Guava Glazed Ribs, and Tiki's Signature Salmon can still be found on the menu. "Wayne has extensive experience in restaurant management," said Bill Tobin, Tiki's Grill & Bar Managing Partner and CEO. "He has strong leadership skills and also knows the restaurant business inside and out, which makes him an ideal candidate for the general manager position."
Prior to joining Tiki's Grill & Bar in September 2007, Gomes served as district manager at Starbuck's Coffee Hawaii where he was responsible for supervising, developing, and supporting the management team for seven stores on Oahu. His background also includes serving as senior center manager at FedEx Kinko's and general manager at Moose McGillycuddy's Restaurant & Bar in Waikiki.
The 10,000-square-foot, 380-seat Tiki's Grill & Bar, featuring a South Pacific ambiance with a casual island theme, is located on the second floor of the ResortQuest Waikiki Beach Hotel at 2570 Kalakaua Avenue.
