AdvaCare Home Services Continues Rapid Pittsburgh Expansion
Advacare Celebrates New Retail Showroom and Selection by Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) as an Authorized Pittsburgh MSA Medicare-Contract Supplier for Oxygen Equipment and Supplies.
Pittsburgh, PA, May 31, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Tammy Zelenko, President and CEO, AdvaCare Home Services, Inc. announces the grand re-opening celebration, June 9 – 13th of the 405 Freeport Road showroom. The 1,000 square foot showroom was redesigned using an innovative retail store layout for stylish comfort, ease of selection and expanded choice of consumer home health care products. The showroom redesign follows the design of the successful new AdvaCare Beaver store, 572 Third Street, opened in May, 2007. Recognized for creative, warm environments, AdvaCare showrooms are featured in national medical equipment industry presentations. The custom-designed Pittsburgh showroom brings important new home health products and services to caregivers, care recipients and health professionals in the Pittsburgh communities.
Additionally, AdvaCare has been selected by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) as one of the authorized Medicare-contract suppliers for Part B oxygen supplies and equipment to serve the Pittsburgh competitive bidding area (CBA). Beginning July 1, a Medicare beneficiary will be required to use a Medicare-contract supplier in the Pittsburgh area. Pittsburgh was in the first round of 10 CBA’s where CMS selected a limited number of qualifying durable medical equipment providers. Of the total companies in the 10 CBA’s submitting bids in round 1, CMS offered contracts to 23% of the firms. The competitive bidding program offers beneficiaries access to quality products and services with lower out-of-pocket costs. The program will be expanded into 70 additional areas in 2009 and into additional areas after 2009.
“AdvaCare’s long term commitment to advancing support and service depth to Pittsburgh’s home health needs is born out. The newly-designed Pittsburgh showroom serves the growing demand for retail self care and caregiver items, homecare services and health professional supplies. Combined with the award of the CBA Medicare Part B supplier contract, the Gold Seal of Approval by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and our new retail service showrooms, we provide consumers, patients and professionals with comprehensive retail and third party payer services,” said Zelenko.
